Vertex Dungeon is a cross-platform 3D modeling software similar to Blender or Autodesk's Maya that I started in fall of 2023 as undergraduate research in the Clemson Visual Computing Lab under Dr. Daljit Dhillon but has been continued post-graduation as an independent project.
Vertex Dungeon (VD) is developed in C# based on the Veldrid rendering library/framework by Eric Mellino. Veldrid allows for VD to easily switch between graphics backends and therefore different platforms. All credit to Eric where it is due. I am very grateful for his work and also for his help and advice while working on this project. Veldrid's Github
The goal for Vertex Dungeon is to provide a more mobile and "in the field" experience for 3D modeling. Utilizing tools like the Samsung S-pen and the apple pen. This would be convenient for artist, engineers, architects and other users to create rapid prototypes of a model while on site of a project, in the spot where inspiration first hits and while traveling. The original idea came while traveling on the train from London to Edinburgh, as I was frustrated not being able to work while being inspired by the beautiful British countryside.
